The Roland KPD-70 is a dedicated three-pedal unit designed to provide a more authentic and traditional piano experience for specific Roland digital pianos. It is not a standalone product and must be used in conjunction with a compatible piano stand.
Key Features and Highlights:
- Three-Pedal Design: The unit features three pedals, just like an acoustic grand piano:
- Damper (Sustain): The most commonly used pedal, which sustains the sound of the notes you play. It also supports half-pedaling, allowing for more nuanced expression.
- Soft (Una Corda): This pedal slightly softens the tone of the notes you play.
- Sostenuto: This pedal sustains only the notes that are held down when the pedal is pressed, while allowing other notes played afterward to remain unsustained.
- Compatibility: The KPD-70 is custom-made to work with specific Roland digital pianos and their matching stands. It is compatible with:
- Roland FP-30 / FP-30X digital pianos when used with the KSC-70 stand.
- Roland FP-E50 digital piano when used with the KSF-E50 stand.
- Integrated and Stable Design: When attached to the designated stand, the KPD-70 creates a single, unified unit, much like a traditional upright piano. This provides a more stable and professional feel than a portable single pedal.
- Hands-Free Control: In addition to its acoustic piano functions, the pedals can also be used for hands-free control of compatible apps on a mobile device, such as for turning music pages.
- Aesthetic Upgrade: The KPD-70 is available in black or white finishes to match the corresponding piano and stand, providing a polished and elegant look for your home or studio.
Important Note:
The KPD-70 is useless without its corresponding stand. It is not designed to be used on its own or with a generic keyboard stand. The stand provides the structure to which the pedal unit attaches.
